For it being a few years from the last time you engraved, I think you did a great job! Looks like you should start engraving more often and let your talent be seen.

Art, it does not seem that you let anything get too rusty in those few years
Thanks for sharing.

Great work Art. Excellent work on the crank case. Having about 180 degrees of cutting rotation, on such a large piece, sure is a challenge.

Art - Beautiful engraving!! What prep work did you do on the pieces you engraved? Did you remove the chrome first? Did you re-apply the chrome finish after engraving? What handpiece do you use for motorcycle engraving? How long did this take? Very interested in motorcycle engraving. My son makes custom parts for motorcycles and I would like to add engraving to what he offers.

Thanks for any information you might offer. Again, your work is awesome!

hello Mary,

all parts are polished, chrome pieces have to be dechromed first en chromed after engraving.
I use the classic airgraver from Steve
Time depends on the detail you want in the engraving , mostly for bikes there not to much detail, so far i spend about 9 hours on this bike, most time consuming are the places that are punched.
Hope this helps

Thank-you for the kind words Art. Being able to tear down a bike, engrave it and put it back together puts you in an entirely altogether special class. Any engraver with that kind of working knowledge of his chosen canvas is always way ahead of the game.

I can't wait to see this engine when it's back together.

...and yep, ain't the bead punching a killer? - but it sure is worth every dot when it comes back from plating
