Default Door plaque

Hi,
My friend has a movie company and he asked me to do a sign for the door.
How much do you charge per letter?
If you would like to see his movies go to
www.bakerstreetusa.com
he does some pretty cool stuff.
Thanks,
Gail in Boston

Hi Gail,

For someone to give an answer, ya gotta give more info... Size of plaque, material, height of the lettering, and it might help if you gave the amount of time you've got in the job? Hard to guess all that...

Brian

Hi Brian,
It's 4x6. As for how much time, around three hours, give or take.
I am still a newbi at this compared to you. It takes me way longer
then it would your or Alex. I figured around fifty dollars would be fair.
It's engraved on copper. Because we make flutes out of Red 50, it looks
like it's engraved on gold.
Are you going to be teaching in Boston again soon?
Luv to see ya again.
Gail

Hi Gail,

Yeah, you gotta work on speeding up the process a bit... Should be able to get it down to under an hour + your layout time. Price sounds fair enough to the customer, but you do need to get faster so you can make more for yourself.

Yes, it's looking like I will be contracted to teach Boston again. We're looking at late November - just before Thanksgiving.

Hi Brian,
I'm working everyday to pick up my speed. I tend to work with my scope to much.
If you come out our way you should contact North Bennet Street School in the North end. They have a wonderful Jewelry making program. From what I understand, they teach push graving.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi Gail,

Ummm... 4"x6" plaque... almost 1/2" tall letters? I don't think I'd bother with the scope on something that large, at least not yet - maybe in another coupla years? Maybe a #3 or #4 Optivisor at most.

I don't think you are that much older than me?

Bennet Street should have my info, mebee I better double check that someone actually did read it? Thanks for reminding me.

B.
