Wowww, Ron Jr. !! Your scrimshaw Art is really amazing, very beautiful indeed (no, I wasn't shocked by looking at the fine nudes)! I love Catherine Plumer's work as well, but I'm sure your scrimshaw can compete with hers ! I'm a stone sculptor & new member here on the forum as well, just started to learn engraving (handpush-method) with evening classes in Antwerp since 3 months (ancient method=very difficult!). The bulino engraving technique that's something I 'm fascinated by & want to learn & try for sure, because drawing with the 'stippling' technique using very fine pen & black ink, I 've practised a lot before I did tattooing and sculpting stone. Just from admiring the beautiful scrim works I saw on the forum, I made my first attempt on scrimshaw too. Only, to find the good base material to work on is not easy ( I made my first on an old, broken (horn?) bracelet, I'll have to try on some other canvas/ground I guess, because the horn is a bit 'oily' inside. Kind regards, Paulsph
