Hi! I'm a beginner, I have tried scrimshaw doing some scratching techniques but they are primitive. This isn't all bad though as I wanted to make primitive jewelry from fossil ivory and antler. The antler is very hard and easy to accidentally skate off the design. I want to try engraving instead of just scratching because I need a lot more control. These are on antler( white tail deer antler) and the carvings are also on antler. I lived in Alaska and bought some eskimo pieces where I lived and was intrigued. So I am aiming for a tribal flavor in my studies. Where are you from Gravalance?? Doc Parker
