Legend of Arthur

Here is one I finished about a week ago, just received the photos from Jim Cooper. It is the Legend of Arthur. This knife is only about 4 inches long closed. So we packed quite bit into a small area. The jousting scene is done in perspective, which can be challenging to keep looking right. Gwenevere and Merlin in the pockets are accented with 18k pink gold and 14K green with some fine gold here and there as well. Thanks for looking- Brian

For what it's worth (my opinion that is), I think this might be one of the finest engraved knives in existence. Well thought out ... both aesthetically and historically. There are a few coat of arms for Arthur. Such an example of artistic talent cannot be described with words.

Thanks guys for the positive response. This knife took about 30 days to complete, plus the time I don't really count, thinking about how I was going to handle the theme. I usually think about those things when I am doing something boring like removing background or stippling on the knife I am working on prior to the job. Plus the design was redesigned and refined several times so there was quite a few days spent just drawing and getting everything to fit together in one small space and look balanced, then change something and then change something else because the first change made things look out of balance and on and on.
