Dog portraits
The last of 3 dog portraits on this piece, almost finished with this one, little more line work, shading, and finish the background ( med. relief )
I don't use ink as the gun guys don't like it when they clean, rub and oil it can start comming out. This gun was in the white but not softened and I couldn't realy keep a small narrow tip on my tools, had to change my technique to suit the metal and the details suffered. The head is 1/2 in or 12 mm high. The tape around the dog is to protect my gold inlays I'll send pics. of the finished works and am trying to figure out how to show them in better detail. Re: Dog portraits
Hi Carl, My favorite, a brittany spaniel! The portrait engraving looks very real. Do you have pictures of the other 2 portraits you can post? Are they of brittanys too? Hey, I just did a search and found one of the other dogs portraits that I must have missed. http://www.engravingforum.com/showthread.php?t=2493

Re: Dog portraits
Top notch Carl.
It's wonderful to see the progression on this pair of Parkers. Can't wait for the tape to come off for the final installment!!! Better yet, can't wait for the next FEGA journal issue. Chris |
