When I am teaching ;-)
I have teached for one month in the engraving's school of Liège.
When I am teaching the drawing course I make in the same time a new draw and I would like to show you. It is a Mauser

Re: When I am teaching ;-)
Hi Roland,
Not really an Antique Engraver's Tool but I like it very much Are you going to use it on a Mauser you already have? Or is this practise for you too. Thanks for showing. Oh, does this engraving school have a website? Greetings, |

Hi Daniel,
I must evolued ;-) It is just for practice and pass my time when the students worked. Yes it is a traditionnal school and it is the only one all over the world where you go out with a school diploma ;-) It is my old school too. http://www.leonmignon.org/

Re: When I am teaching ;-)
Lovely work Roland but I agree with Daniel - I don't think you qualify as an 'Antique Engraver'. :p

Re: When I am teaching ;-)
Hi Roland, I just read your post again. I didn't know this was a drawing! Wow... this is incredible! When I first saw it, I thought it was a finished engraving and picture of the gun, but it is a drawing. Good job!

Re: When I am teaching ;-)
Oh sure Steve - move this to the proper forum so Daniel and I look even crazier than usual.
This is just another reminder of what a good technique it is to make a full-size copy of the design and actually set it in place - it lets you see if it will or will not look good. In this case, of course, it looks great! |

Re: When I am teaching ;-)
When doing complicated work it's better to draw first, that way any improvements can be made while keeping the original for reference.

Re: When I am teaching ;-)
Yes Carl, I make the drawing in bigger than the original and after I reduce it, you are automaticly a finest work.
I d like do this presentation because for the customer, it is easier to have an idea of finished engraving.
