Hello from New York
Hello, my name is Michael Ayzman. I have been working in the jewelry business for more than 20 years. But truth be told, I don’t know whether I’m more of an engraver, a setter, a jeweler, a model-maker. But foremost, I try to be an artist.
I was born and raised in Eastern Europe. Ever since that childhood, I’ve been interested in studying the history of art and funneling it into a design filled with creativity. What really helped me for my future career and that stayed with me until the present day, was the advice of my first teacher. He was a master hand engraver that utilized older, more traditional skills when it came to engraving. He presented me with a “philosophy of mastery” that sounded something like: “Always try your best, it’ll turn out bad by itself”. After, a long period of intense learning, I moved to the United States with my family. After that, America became my second home and has been so for the past 15 years. Here, I had learned far more than I would have imagined and new concepts appeared before me. Over my entire professional career here, I developed particular specializations in different aspects of jewelry. Thanks Michael |
