Default Howdy

I'm a pistolsmith specializing in the 1911 autopistol. I've always admired engraved firearms and one day may give it a try. For now, I'll just admire.

Hi John!

Always good to have a gunsmith around who has at least a little understanding of engraving.

JJ - that is the law but I understand it's not really enforced.
But I also understand that the crime rate in Kennasaw is significantly lower than another, otherwise very similar Atlanta suburb.

Hello Folks,
New member. Retired from The Bureau of Engraving and Printing in 2003.
Now that engraving is not my profession, after a (7) year rest, thought I would do some hobby engraving. My main interest and focus right know is custom knives. So I'll scratch on some blades for a while.

Hi Hareden,

Welcome ... it is exciting to have someone from the BPE here on this forum. I'm a huge fan of that intaglio engraving style used throughout American history as I hope to learn enough to use the techniques for illustration.

I just received a print from the American Numismatic Association of a BPE print made in 1994 from a plate engraved in 1905 .... it is absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to have it framed.

All the best,

Chris
