I'm always confused by your threads. I always want to purchase the classic but your work looks good enough to make me change my mind on spending the extra 400 bucks.

By getting the artisan i could use the extra money to buy a silientaire compressor. My current compressor at home is too loud and the hose would run through the house which i don't want.

As usual your work looks awesome.

I got the Artisan mainly because my largest percentage of work is with firearms and I have used the footpedal for so many years. The classic would have been overkill for my usage. One thing about the compressor you have, you could run a line to the room thru the wall or attic. The Lindsay system does not use the same volumn of air that other systems use. Mine only comes on for a short while compared to how often it used to.
The Classic has advantages over the Artisan when it comes to very delicate work. GiveSteve a call and he will shoot straight with you.

Thats impressive. I aspire to get to this level.
Could you list off the gravers you use to do this? It would help me out.
Thanks
Pat

Pat:
Sorry about the poor photo, I'll post better ones when it's completed,as far as the gravers used. The main cuts were with a 110 degree square carbide, the line strokes were a universal template. The figure with a bulino (Phil Coggan) this was 90% hand pushed with no power assist. I use Steves template exclusively now because of the repeatability,
I sharpen at least a half dozen gravers before I start a project. Hope this helps you out_JR
