Default Domers

I bought the doming plates Steve has on his Engraving Tools section, listed with Accessories. They're great, exactly what I've been wanting for years. Using them is a no brainer, put in a piece of flat metal, apply pressure (I use a 6 ton hydraulic press) and the metal comes out domed.

These pieces are highly polished and precision machined. The blanks shown here were pretty rough from a "Helpful Friend" attempting to dome them. I was able to make them flat again in my press then the domers made the surface smooth with a perfect dome. Best tool I've bought in a long time.

These pieces are 17 ga nickel silver.

Default Re: Domers

Thank you Dave for the good feedback on with these bending domers! Were you adding paper between when squishing or just direct metal to metal?
