Default Something a 'Little' different

These large birds heads were an idea Russell Wilkin (of H&H) had back in 1991. There was also another gun with dogs heads.

Phil,
That is awesome, just totally awesome! The larger heads make a real portrait out of it.

Thanks for posting this!

Do you have any castings of your work available? Both the deep relief and the fine bulino would be great to have.

Actually, I wonder on some of your deep relief if you can cast them - they're so 3D it could be tricky.

Something you might want to consider. If you're willing to do a couple examples and don't want any hassle dealing with them you could always donate them to FEGA and let them do all the grunt work of distribution.

Fantastic work. Thank-you for the closeup photos. When the forum gets a little quiet, a post from you sure livens the place up.

Hey Steve ... Ummm, this gun was photographed and documented almost 20 years ago. That was before Al Gore invented the Internet!!

Chris

Oh I know that most of these beauties Phil is showing us are long since gone from his shop - and on the current work he may not be allowed to do castings since they're commissioned works, but a section of his deep relief engraving would serve for study purposes.

Trickier for his gorgeous bulino work though - I doubt he has much of that just lying around and what he's working on he may or may not be able to reproduce.

But I figure it's worth planting the seed of the idea in his head.
