Wonderful work!
Were you able to engrave the blade or did you have to acid etch it? |

Re: Boker Titan II by Montejano .
I'm impressed by the detail you're able to etch!
Most acid etching I've seen has had problems with fine detail. |

Thanks for the comments. It is true that it is very difficult to achieve high definition in an acid-etching. My technique is traditionally the last century and have evolved in recent years. My technique acid etching is considered the highest international level. You may not have seen before engravings mine. I show some photos that were here long ago. A greeting and thanks. :smile[2]: Montejano ------------ Engraving for Prince Felipe (Spain) ------------------- Randall Knives |

Re: Boker Titan II by Montejano .
Just stunning!
The very last knife - the George Washington one - has that just slightly soft look I usually see in acid etched designs. It's a good look, just not as crisp as engraving. I especially like the way it lets you have deep relief in very small areas that would be difficult to do with a graver. But on the Randall knife right above it - clean, crisp lines I'd swear were engraved. Thanks for the additional photos! |
