Mike Dubber Class pictures, Evansville, Indiana
I've also asked Mike Dubber this week to take pictures of one of his students during a class. This is Dan Oldan from Indianapolis while using the Classic AirGraver. Thank you Mike for taking pictures
Mike is in Evansville Indiana. Here is the info from the www.EngravingClasses.com site about Mike, his studio and class schedule.

Re: Mike Dubber Class pictures, Evansville, Indiana
Beautiful set up Mike. Thanks Steve for having people such as Mike and Jim share the possibilities that are out there to be had if one is looking to advance his or her skills. Another reason to stay up on what's happening on this forum.

Re: Mike Dubber Class pictures, Evansville, Indiana
Thanks Eric it is nice place to learn. Incidentally, each station is fully equipped, including microscopes at each - Dan is one of those young guys who sees well enough without them - he does'nt even wear galsses. I can't remember back that far!
Thanks also to Steve for posting the photos. If could have figured out how to set my camera on auto I could have been in the picture too Additional Note: if I had taken this photo an hour later - after I had set Dan up at the PalmControl work station - you would have really seen him smile! Mike |

Re: Mike Dubber Class pictures, Evansville, Indiana
No, sorry, nothing so special as a Barry Wood knife on my table. In fact, it's an NRA Knife that I received for a donation to their political fund. I use it pry practice plates off the holders we use for student work. Student practice plates are held for engraving on a brass base plate - Tim Wells made these for me. You can see that the holding device has a square rib soldered to back - this allows the base plate to be held in the vise jaws without opening the jaws to a wide, uncomfortable position. Then, we use double sided Duck Tape to hold the practice plates on the base. In short, this allows the student to engrave on the practice plate comfortably - without the jaws being spread wide...or having to work around pins. So, when the plate is ready to be removed, we gently pry the finished practice plate off the tape with a cheap knife, flip it over, and start again!

Great setup Mike. Looks like a great place to learn. That is a very nice safe in the backround. The knife does sort of resemble the MK I (if I recall the model correctly).
