This was my point....
Excuse the mess... I get roughly 330 degrees rotation? The fixture I am using to hold the barrel is an awsome creation from D.C. Whitman Custom Gunsmithing. Pressed bearings to rotate barrel in hand as well as swing. Adjustible leg with wheel. Multiple tapered Nylon inserts for different bores.... I love this thing and my little adjusto table is perfect for it. I couldnt imagine doing large complex scroll designs down barrels without it.
Enjoy |

Re: This was my point....
So I got to thinking and I decided to modify a computer desk on wheels to sit behind my new Ball stand...
I got the desk at officemax or something(139.00) and removed the existing desktop and attached the keyboard shelf to the fixed shelf. It worked perfect, and I can wheel it away to do barrels easily. and there are a few more pics of my setup. enjoy |

That is looking surgically clean to me Platt! And a very nice setup too. If you want to see a mess you should see my workshop right now. Too much going on in there to focus on just one thing I love your barre rigg. Good point. Daniel |

Re: This was my point....
Thanks Man!
Yeah I came to the conclusion awhile back to completely seperate Jewelry/engraving...LOL just because it's too many little parts and things to keep organized. Metal work and jewelry stuff I keep in a different room all together.... I'll see how lon that lasts |

Hello Mr. Bleile,
It was actually a trade so I don't know exactly. I used a fairly poor one before and he redesigned it and improved it vastly. Here is his website if you want to contact him. http://www.dcwhitmangunsmithing.com/ |

Re: This was my point....
Nice set up Plat955. It almost looks like a person on a budget (like me) could make some modifications to a cabinet clamp to achieve a similar holding fixture. All I need now is my first shot gun commission. Here is a picture of cabinet clamp in a similar configuration.

Not a thread hi-jack.
I made this "thing" to hold a Harley indicator bar. The piece rotates to present the two flat faces for working.
