Hello Everyone, it's great to be a part of this community. I only did push graver work along with some silversmithing more than a decade ago. I picked up a graver in 1982, so that tells you something. I supported myself for many years making hand engraved jewellery. Life takes many turns, some good, some bad. I packed up my tools in 96, and now have finally unpacked and set up a small workroom once again. I'm looking forward to once again engraving, and I'll pick up a Lindsay foot or palm classic handpiece sometime in the near future so I can keep up with today's artists. I posted one pic here, a brooch I made in 1994. It's not polished, and it's not a great pic, but hey, better than nothing.

Daniel, thank you very much for your kind words. You make some pretty amazing pieces of art yourself. Also, you are really talented in engraving. Is that a palm control in one of your pics in your photo album ? Did you go from foot control to palm ?. I'm wondering because I'm unsure about which system is easier to learn.

Hi Dave,
I got the PC first and then got the footcontrol for surtain jobs.
That means, getting the PC and after buying a double regulator with foot pedal.
I love working with them both but use the pc 100% for engraving. The fc for certain jobs like cutting real deep filé's on setting jobs, or using it to hammer down bezels or stipple backgrounds and push over beads.

Wich system works best for you is really personal but if you take the time to get used to it I would go for the PC always
You could check the airgraver networking to see if there is one around where you live.
It does seem that oldschool handengravers seem to have some adjustment problems when changing to the Palm Control. Nothing too bad, but they have to learn and let go of some rules that count for pushengraving and not for engraving with air.

Thanks Daniel and J.J. . I'll probably get a palm control. My only fear is a bit of a learning curve, but it's nothing time won't fix. I think snapping or flicking the metal at the end of a cut will take a bit of getting used to. So far nobody on the airgraver network is near by, as I have posted a comment there. All your words are appreciated.
