My first knife
Hi,
Here is my first knife. I know the scrolls not are completely round, but this carving was difficult for me due the thumb stud of the blade was unremovable and was difficult to carve some of the scrolls close to the thumb stud. The blade is heat treated and was very hard for carving. This is another new difficulty for me. The total length of the blade is 2.5" and the carved area is 1 3/8" Thanks all, Carlos |

Re: My first knife
Looking good Carlos, Try some mild steel to work on creating a nice flow in your scrolls, Maybe the stainless is just too hard to cut really smooth. Keep posting!
Try to keep the backbone flowing gracefully en maintain an even width. Gert |
