New to engraving
Just want to say hi...I recieved my Artisan about a week ago and have not had a chance to work with it yet, have to run the airline and Steve was helpful and very nice to talk to when purchasing the Artisan.I actually got interested in gun engraving over the summer and have more or less been researching and studying what information I can find, kind of counting the cost (a little pun intended) of whether or not this would be something I could learn and dedicate myself to learn and I am looking forward to learning the the skill and art of engraving.

Re: New to engraving
Hi Jeffro,
Welcome to the Engraving Forum . The artisan is an awesome hand-piece.There is more to read here; http://www.airgraver.com/Artisan-AirGraver.htm I also acquired the tungsten piston for it.The artisan is a versatile tool and is also adaptable and to quite a few types of different work both small and light ,deep background removal etc..,the hammering is just great. Depending on how you get used to the tool there is room for improvising You will have a great time with it I am sure. I hope you remembered to get some graver blanks and a sharpening system. All the best SE

Re: New to engraving
Haraga - fortunatley the garage is next to my office, just going to run the airline through the wall from the compressor.I did get the double regulator's but my concern is once winter set's in will the cold air cause excessive moisture in the line and affect the airgraver?...Other option's are a 20lb tank,It's all temporary until I wall off the back of the garage and run a heat duct.
SEngraver - Thank you,I got the tungsten also and plenty of graver's to get started,I hope(5 each). |
