Been away for awhile
Hello everyone! I havent been on this forum for a VERY LONG TIME!!!! With working full time, having my business go crazy and trying to spend as much time with my family before our son left for college, WOW! I have done quite a bit of work and thought that since I had a minute I would share a couple.
Best regards, Rich |

Re: Been away for awhile
Thanks for the nice compliments. Yes, the carving was my first "real attempt" at it. It came out decent. A lot of work but I like the way it enhances the whole project. I was inspired by Mr. Rundell. His work is breath taking!

I think the pen would look so much better with the big red N on it.
Outstanding work overall |

I don't think my son would appreciate that! Lol. Those were a graduation gift for him. He is in his first year at MIZZOU.

WOW!!!
Awesome work! One question. What metals did you use to inlay the birds? The brown and orange colors is really cool! |

Re: Been away for awhile
SE I will definitely make a much better attempt. I got an IPad for Christmas which makes it a lot easier. Much more convenient than a laptop. Damn we are spoiled.

Re: Been away for awhile
Are they alloys you made? The brown on the quail is what I'm most curious about. That looks really cool!!!

Re: Been away for awhile
Bert, that brown color is copper as well. The slow heating of the metal will change the color of copper. After I achieved the color I wanted, I pulled the piece from the oven and shot clear enamel over it to preserve the color.
