This stunning Loveless style dagger features three color virgin gold inlays on the 416 stainless guard in antique 23k yellow, 18k green and 22k rose gold, executed with finely shaded flush inlay on a relieved and fine stippled 416 stainless background, surrounded by 24k gold flush line borders.
The Exhibition Grade Australian Silverlip Pearl scales, are inlaid with Barry’s original “Gilded Pearl” technique.
This over the top example of gilded pearl featuring nineteen 24k gold leaves with stems on each side has more than twice the number of leaves and mass of 24k Gold than any other gilded pearl job ever done before.
The 300 series stainless pins securing the scales are set with four brilliant cut diamonds hand selected by the engraver at Gassan’s in Amsterdam.
The perfectly ground Dagger blade, of ATS 34, is decorated with Barry’s unique “Burnished Gold” technique, in green, red and yellow gold.
The quillons are inlaid with raised, fully sculpted 24k Gold leaves on the concave surface facing the scales.
The most ornately luxurious and highly decorated Loveless style dagger ever created.

Magnificent work! The leaves appear to just float upon the MOP. I have a question for you, back in the late 70’s I was the supervisor of the inlay division for Doc Lanning of Lanning Silver of Phoenix. We had an ultra sonic drill press which would cut stone like butter and we did multiple stone inlay. I just never thought at that time to inlay metal into stone or shell, so long story short, are your gold leaves inlayed or raised on the MOP?

Have you moved to Oceanside and no longer in Montana? The coast is nice and I did a lot of fishing out of Oceanside.

Third but not least I saw your post a while back on the fashion show in Palm Springs and how you wanted to add color to your work and was thinking that fancy color diamonds would be a great option for you .

Its all sculpted fush inlay on this piece using conventional tools.
I vacation in So Cal each year and do a little scratching to stay on schedule, however my main studio is in Montana still.
