Hi everyone!

I am new to this forum, my name is Lucie Bandikova and I am from The Czech Republic. I was studying the engraving at the school of art for four years. Last two years I work for The Slovak Post Service – engraved envelopes and this year I engraved a stamp.
My first experience with the Air Graver was in Norway when I was visiting Bertil Aasland. He was so open to talk about engraving. It was just great. A year later I went there again and I also had a chance to meet him and his wife couple of times in Arizona. We made few engraving projects together. He taught me a lot. Unfortunately the second visit in Anthem was my last one. I would like to show you the picture of the last knife we did . I have done the design for him. He started but did not manage to finish it. I completed the knife. He really enjoyed to work on this knife.
He was such a nice person and a very good engraver. I am so grateful I had a chance to meet him.
I miss him so much

Best regards
Lucie

PS: Engraved with the PalmPush control AirGraver- there is nothing better then this.

Welcome Lucie, I'm so glad and I know Bertil would be too that you've finished this engraving project that he was working on.

There are more pictures of Lucie's work in an earlier thread.

Lucie,
I am glad to have you as part of this forum. I had the honor of knowing Bertil and getting to engrave with him at his house in Anthem. I live in Texas but was in Phoenix visiting when I met him. When visiting with him he had a lot of great things to say about you and your work. I am also a big fan of your work. I just built my own intaglio press and am anxious to start making prints on it. Thanks for joining the forum!

I was wondering if I could get a copy of the envelope and stamp. I would bet that several of us might pay for some of those.

Welcome al forum friend.

The engraving is very beautiful and i like the style. I see normally that the engravings are used to having the fund in black color, to create a greater contrast in the engraving. But it pleases me to see an engraving without black fund.

I congratulate him for the engraving and thanks by showing it in the forum

A greeting

Montejano

Default Hi Lucie

That's great, Lucie, being able to work for your country's postal service is a great acknowledgement for you as an engraver. Keep on with your good work.

Yes, Bertil was a great engraver. I had the pleasure of meeting him and holding one of his portraits in my hands and it showed a very good technique.

Lucie,
Your work is very beautiful and tastefully done. I would like to buy one of your stamps if you have enough to go around? My Grandfather was from Kublov.
