Default Practice Plate

Hi Carl, I think I recall you saying it would be nice if more people posted pictures. Well here it goes. I hope it works.

The first is a practice plate for a Win 94 project and the others are the design. I'm glad I did the practice plate because I got pretty lost when shading a few leaves and made some design adjustments as I went.

Soooo much to learn and so little time!

Thanks Steve.

I still have a long way to go on every aspect but I think my biggest challenge is design. I have worked on this one for months.

I'm looking forward to my first scene though!

Hey Dan,

I agree with Steve, to me it conveys a delicate, supple and warm sentiment, like an overgrown garden on a summer morning. Original design is a challenge for all artists and I don't believe it gets any easier as you develop your ability.

Hi Bob, thank you so much for the kind words.

I'm a little disappointed that designing won't get much easier but comments like these certainly makes the effort worth while.

Hey Day,

Yes, it's that particular guy with the pencil, if the design is not right all the artisan skill in the world will not bring you satisfaction or take the work where you want it to go. I'm glad you like my simple description of your work, I believe your approach will charm many in the future.

Hey Dan,

Like the man said we all have "miles to go before I sleep" it's as much or more about the journey as the destination. Don't confuse prediction with compliment, you have everything to make it come true even the right attitude, so even though it may feel like flattery take it to heart.

Hi Bob. Point taken, thanks.

Hi Carl, thanks for the kind words. I would not have posted had I not read your encouragement to do so in another thread. Thank you!

Thanks Dave. Great to hear from you again. When you coming to FL?

Side one shaded. Man this one is taking longer than expected but I am pretty happy with it.
