Default Hello from Indiana

My name is Troy and I've been interested in learning to engrave for years mainly being a gun enthusiast and a graphic designer. I started drawing scroll a couple years ago on paper in my spare time. I hope to start collecting equipment this winter for engraving.

I just built a pole barn this summer and am getting ready to build MY CORNER. Lol. Going to have a bench for reloading and engraving. But I'm eager to learn and hope to get started with used stuff inexpensively and work my way up.

I'm married to a wonderful wife and we have four kids ranging 18 to 10! I've been a fulltime designer for 22 years currently in healthcare.

And yes....I like heavy metal which is the perfect genre for engraving metal, right!?

God bless!

Hey Troy from Indiana, welcome to the forum. There are a lot of wonderful folks here who will be glad to help you help yourself. The best advice I can give you right now is to sign up for a basic engraving class just as soon as you can. You will save countless hours, day's and months of frustration. You will have questions answered about equipment and, as an added bonus you might just make some new friends. Enjoy the journey and stay in touch.

Born there, messed around some in Sulpher, Crawfordsville, and wherever that cave was up there somewhere Wyndot? Anyway, I went to high school in Newburgh. Don't miss it though.

I live just across the river in Louisville, KY. Fairly certain I bought either a gun or a dog from someone in Crawfordsville a few years back. Nice place, as I remember it. Nice and flat. I'm remembering a restaurant (Mexican?) that was absolutely wicked!

Little Mexico!!! The best Mexican food in Indiana!

Drove through Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia last October. Loved Kentucky and Tennessee!
