Default Kit for knifemaker

Hello, I'm knifemaker and I would like to add engraving on my knives, do the following list is good for me


Foot Control Classic or NitroG20™ engraving set w/ sharpener

Classic handpiece or NitroG20 (your choice)
Dual Regulators with Foot Control
Tungsten Dead blow piston
CarbaltXD graver blanks 5 pack
M42 graver blanks 5 pack
Lindsay Sharpener set with basic templates, Includes: Sharpening fixture, 6"x6' sharpening base, four diamond bench stones (260, 600, 1200, 2000), plus 4 templates: Universal, Detailing, 105, and Flat & Knife Combo

I have microscope and compressor.

What is the best for me Classic or Nitro ?
Bulino template which you advise me to create scene ?
Ball vise which one to choose if needed so the knives ?

I think that if you have to engrave knifes ,the classic handpiece is a perfect choice,the nitro maybe is more helpfull to engrave more bigger items like motorcicles parts,or heavy sculpting.

Hi Laguiole,

I agree with Mrthe,the classic would be a good choice since you are also getting the tungsten piston.

For bulino you can use both the P.Coggan point/ template and the V70 - green template.

Salut Laguiole, je suppose que je vise juste pour la langue ;-)
Pour les couteaux, pas besoin du G20 le classique et le piston en tungstène c'est assez.
Pour l'affûtage des pointes en carbure, il est impératif de prendre l'affûteur de TW
Pour le reste du matériel, tu as eu les réponses ;-)

Ma commande est passé maintenant, j'ai hâte de m'investir dans le domaine de la gravure. Je n'ai pas demandé le TW pour l'affûtage mais peut-être dans que dans l'avenir je le ferai.

Un back stand peut-il faire le nécessaire aussi pour le dégrossisage des pointes?

Tu veras que le TW pour l'affûtage sera vraiment nécessaire avec les pointes en carbure... également recommandées pour les gravures sur acier "couteau"
