Air and Sea
My therapist recommended a much needed break from the bench...
and this past weekend proved to be just the ticket! The Experimental Aircraft Assoc. was in town, and my pilot friend and I went out to his hanger to watch the Warbirds and part of the civilian aerobatic show. British Lancaster on bombing run B-17 Flying Fortress with P-51 Mustang escort B-17 overhead Red Barron Squadron Russian Mig heading for the runway Our Daughter and Son-In-Law gave Kelly and I "sail-away" tickets to the Tall Ships Festival at the Port of Green Bay, WI. 16 ships were anchored off 3 parks at the mouth of the Fox River. With a heat index of 103 degrees, it was nice to be on the water! Fore to aft...Unicorn, Highlander Sea, Pride of Baltimore II and Picton Castle The schooner Pride of Baltimore II The Barque Picton Castle The Barquentine Windy II under topsail power. There's 3 feet of masthead clearance under the Mason Street bridge! Lighthouse at the mouth of the bay and Lake Michigan beyond It sure was an eventful weekend, and a nice way to re-charge the batteries! I hope you all enjoy the pictures.
