New Knife, Finally!
Hi All,
So happy I'm able to get back to it, I just needed to share. First folder from the new shop. It's been a long while! Just some simple 24K wire inlay, with heat coloring for contrast. Didn't want anything too fancy, just lines and curves. Knife and all 8 screws received some gold. This is small diameter gold, since I'm cheap! For reference, the large screw is 1/4" (6.3mm) diameter head, small ones are 9/64" (3.5mm). Workholding the knife and screws took some thinking. Spent half a day making fixture blocks, but once that was done it all went very smoothly. Last photo is with the phone camera looking through the microscope eyepiece at the large screw. This trick works surprisingly well! Sorry for the poor photo quality and dust. These were just quick shots with the phone. Dan |
