Finally I got to try out a Lindsay Palm control.

I thought the foot operated airgraver was the ultimate. I was wrong.
I really like the palm control now that I have had a chance to use it.

The control and ease of use is simply fantastic. I do not know how Steve could improve upon this, although he probably won't stop trying!

For someone who started as a push graver, the action of this hand piece is like second nature, without the stressed muscles or simply stress in general involved with the traditional push graver. Very smooth action and unbelievable control through a full range of cuts. The enclosed picture was done with 2 different gravers (100 degree with 15 heel, 80 with 15 heel).

I really can not say enough about it, other than you have to try it!!

Now I just have to be patient while I wait in line for one!

Beautiful engraving. Very elegant. Are the leaves and letter outline inlaid with something or bead blasted. They look a different texture/colour to the rest of the metal.

The burnishing adds a very pleasing effect to the whole thing. I'll keep that in mind for future projects.

Steve is already working on the new, improved replacement for the the Palm Control...

I've heard that you just put a sharp graver in it, tell it what you want engraved and by what time - and go back to reading the forum... or take a nap.

JC, Thank you for the feedback post on the PalmControl. I just need to get them in more peoples hands to try. Moving the foot up and down on a pedal doesn't seem like it would be too strenuous but eliminating having to move the foot an inch for each hand movement gives a sense of relief or freedom by not having to sit a certain way. As you describe, it is definably more intuitive. The learning curve with it for beginners is faster since they don't have to learn to coordinate every hand movement to foot movement. Anyway, glad you like it JC.

About how many weeks Steve if I send my Classic in for a retrofit? You WILL, buy the footpiece back of course won't you for several hundred dollars :0)?

Hi Robert,
PalmControls are currently shipping around 4 to 6 weeks after ordering. The foot pedal AirGravers are going out in 2 to 5 days. For upgrading a foot pedal airgraver to palmcontrol, place the order and at the time your palmcontrol handle is ready you'll be contacted and then you can then send in the handpiece for the upgrade. From that point it just takes a couple of days.
