This is my most decadent piece of work ever.
506 diamonds, Top Wesselton and natural Canary's weighing 11.43ct in total. A cigaret that you can put in your mouth everywhere where you can not smoke! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After all the settings where made I fastened the prongs with the Lindsay Palm Control. And having about 1500 prongs to tighten it is a god's gift. Hope you like it. Daniel. |

Fancy nail there, Daniel! Is it in fact a pen, or what?
How long did it take for your eyes to become un-crossed after doing this? Great photo too. gail

Incredible stone setting Daniel. Decadence at its finest. Reminds me of some Tiffany creations I have seen pictures of.
That must have taken MANY hours! Peter |

Thanks Guys and Galls,
Luckily I did not have to uncross my eyes but I still feel my wrist a bit from the drilling and burring. This is indeed a tube with the stone's set blind. Why ask Chris? ![]() I don't really care what they are going to do with it. Just glad I got to make this one. Quote:

Daniel,
Hollow through the whole thing... Wow!!! I have so many ct's of diamonds I may have to work on one... What the size of the gold tube did you start with??? I would love to test it for you at one of the coffee shops and then take some engraving lessons... I may just jump the pond for that test... That is a beautiful piece of work... Jerry |

Thanks Noud, you should see it in the sunlight!
![]() Hi Danny, I won't show it to Tiffany's. This was a job for my employer. I work for him 3 days a week. But if there where a Tiffany's in Amsterdam I just might! Does show what I can do I think ![]() Rod, for a pack of 20 you should get a nice discount, buy 19 get 20! Do you prefere the packaging in yellow, white or red gold? Maybe a combination? With or without your Initials? Do you want to engrave them yourselfe or shoul I do it? ![]() Jerry, I started with a yellow and white tube of 4x7mm. Soldered them together and started digging out the settings. Good fun, you should try it. The biggest high was whenn I finished it! Just thankfull to have had to make such a piece. I might have liked it better if there where a pen in it like Gail suggested. But the shere pleasure of making this ![]() If I could insert some engraving, 24-7 ![]() |

Daniel
A 'doob' is a smoke you'd find at a local coffee shop - different shape and likely not as elegant an end result. 50 years from now this will probably be in some museum. Hope they have your name with it so folks know who did the work. |

Very neat setting there Daniel
![]() Must have been a pain to hold the peice and work on a section at a time... I remember setting a "football" type pendant once.. could only set 2 or 3 stones before unsticking from cement, cleaning , turnining, re- sticking on cement ect....

Ah, Thanks SVD, so I guess a doob is what we here in Holland can get semi legaly in our "coffee shops". So I guess i doobed twice and felt so miserable that I thought the best of it
![]() I prefere a beer! To each his own. I think this has something to do with a thin white line between art and decadence. Again it was a nice thing to make ![]() Gemsetterchris, ![]() I had my vise turned open just a bit more than on this picture. Thenn I pasted it with painters tape to ensure no stone's directly against the metal but a good fix. So no cement was used. I worked from row (11 stone's per cirqulation) to row. After every row I cleaned it in the ultrasonic. I calculated for calibrated stone's from 1.70 to 1.75 mm but got 1.75 to 1.83mm. That made me have too make every setting individualy and that cost me at least one day or two more. Can't be sure of how much because of the instant work that had to be done. Thanks for looking though ![]() Daniel |

Hey Daniel ... I can't wait to see this finished .... you gotta hurry up!!
I know that the cultivation of perfection takes time but the gubbermint guys wearing black ninja turtle outfits that carry MP5s will be here any minute now that they know I am reading this stuff on doobers ..... I'm already on the "right wing extremist" list. Gotta train my dawg to pass the ammo dag gummitt ... gotta run .. later. |

Jeff, That's why I like you and Jason and Chris and Chris and all the others here! I see some devotion in some work that I could not even muster
![]() Chris, couldn't you train your dawg to shoot as well? Hang in there buddy! JemsetterChris, Like Jason I use my phone too. Here you see only the back side. The phone buttons are on the side. ![]() There is an inflatable 60"" flat screen in there somewhere too and a compressor so I can attache my palmcontrol. If I don't use my phone I have a nikon coolpix5000 at my work and sometimes bring my Canon eos 30D. The nikon is a bit of a pain to take a proper photo with. The Canon is gold! |
