Default more templates?

I have the universal template that came with my classic. I was wondering if I need any others that I could use as a beginner (2 weeker) or am I rushing it?

I also like the grape vines that Pinkguns had posted on the tutorial site. Were they made with a punch or special graver? Are they available here?

Those tutorials are great and I thank the artists that take the time to share their talent and info. There is so much to engraving that sometimes I don't know which way to go. I'd like to try them all someday as I gain expericence.

Thank You all.....JohnR

I would stick with the same graver for awhile, you need muscle memory more than you need specialty cuts.

Tom White who cut the grapevine scroll can tell us for sure, but I confident that his graver was not much different than the universal graver if at all.

I'm with Scott and Dave. Stick to the basics as a beginner. That is why my daughter's music teacher made her learn Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star before she worked her way up to the Moonlight Sonnata.
