This is the different steps to sharp this point.
For the first template (little) I use the 100grip diamond stone For the second template I use the 600 diamond stone but you can finished with diamond polish for more slip. ![]() Thank you Steve, the template work very well and with the step's numbers is very easy and clear. For using you can see here http://www.engravingforum.com/showthread.php?t=2312 or here http://www.engravingforum.com/showthread.php?t=2234

Roland that's a great idea with the numbers...
Maybe Steve or someone will post the numbers for the other templates... The small template should be used first and the face and heel template be used last... that way you only change the graver holding unit once... Jerry |

Here is a link to instructions for the clear universal template. Use the small template first for this one too. http://www.engravingschool.com/priva...0Sharpener.htm

Hello Roland,
I rekon on all the different templates one uses the small template first then the one for the heel and backs, but numbering the other templates as mentioned earlier is a good idea.I have a flat/knife combo and dont know where to start on the small template? Can somone advise.Maybe number all the templates/sketches and post them on the forum and we can print the sketches from the forum web site, for those who would have got templates before them being numbered. The key thing I learned on the first flat I did was that I was looking at it upside down. It's a very slight wedge with the wider bit to the top. Life goes better when you know that. Just recently I made a flat to match some wire and it was a snap - I just kept working the sides evenly until the tip fit my wire gauge the way I wanted it to. When I did the inlay it fit extremely well. |

Good Morning Roland,
The video on the inlay was informative,I find just by looking I can learn more in a short time, than by reading.Ofcourse doing it and getting it right is something else. But thanks a lot for sharing it with us. Mo. |
