colored diamond ring
Here's a ring I did recently with 5 natural fancy colored diamonds (including two purple dia.s) flanked by two white diamonds at the bottom. Note the rose and yellow gold plates under the diamonds to boost the color.

Re: colored diamond ring
Hi James,
The ring looks great I like the color combination of the gold, like you said it really accents the stones, and beautiful engraving to match, fantastic work! Thanks, Chris H. |

Re: colored diamond ring
That is a great ring J.
Not so sure about the fancy colour on the mid three though, but the ring is a feast to look at. |

Re: colored diamond ring
Daniel, I'm very certain the center three, being clearly stones of color meet the fancy color criteria by all gemological standards, even as they appear in this photograph. Though they may not qualify as "deep" in tone they are definitely in the "fancy range" which qualifies from Faint, Very Light, Light, Fancy Light, Fancy, Fancy Dark, Fancy Deep, Fancy Intense, and Fancy Vivid. The center three stones are all well within the "fancy light" category thereby making it normal to refer to them as fancy colored diamonds as the general term "fancy" covers a range of intensities. Thanks for the compliment on the gold work..

Re: colored diamond ring
Nice work. A pleasure to view.
Learned something as well. I didn't have a clue how "fancy" they got about the colors. John |

Re: colored diamond ring
Wow! Now that is real eye-candy. I'm a diamond setter myself, but I've never thought of using different colored gold to enhance the diamonds. Very pretty.

Re: colored diamond ring
Hi James
Beautiful ring! I have been having more clients wanting fancy diamonds lately, maybe the economy is getting better. With pink and yellow sapphire I have put a 18K yellow concave cup under them, high polished and it really brings them to life. Steve Shepherd |

Re: colored diamond ring
Steve I do think the economy seems better too. In fact the last two years have been my best ever. The only thing I see is less two carat or extra big stones. Seems people aren't quite reaching as far as they used to.
Thanks all. |
