Default Somthin Pretty

Thaught I would share this very special Mandarin Garnet (Gossular) about
22.0cts in a pendant that is wearable in 3 diffrent configurations. The pendant (pave donut and basket) were done in CAD and Grown in a sterolithogrophy machine. The mechinisim was tapped and board and assembeled by hand. Hope you like it!

Anyone interested in learning CAD/CAM and or jewelery skills? Perhaps we can work something out.

That is beautiful! I can't imagine setting all those stones! Or setting one stone , for that matter...

Thanks for showing that. I would love to learn about CAD type software, but my time is all gone right now.

take care,

Tom

Hi Spike,
Great work!
Your CAD/CAM is the jewelers way of the future.
So sorry I am such a with computers.
Something like mr Olin, no pushing buttons for me.
But happy for you, you know the new ways.
Happy for me I know the old and older ways.
I do envey you. I can not put myself to learn the computer ways.
My workbenche is my holy place.
What you have made I can do by hand. You can probably do it quicker and with no waist of gold.

Thanks for showing!

Daniel

Very cool spike. The stonesetting looks GREAT! Cad is great, as long as the caster can cast it without a bunch of porosity right? Do you do much hand fabricating these days?

Thanks for the coments.....Jeff I do still fabricate quite a bit, most of the CAD stuff I do is only to get exact semetry in the foundation of the design then all the assembly and finishing is of course done by hand.
