Hi,
My name is Tom and I too have an addiction to cutting metal. Working as a computer engraver and gold/silversmith for a chain of stores in Connecticut for the past 10 years, I have caught the hand engraving bug. Everything I look at becomes a potential project. I even dream of shading and stippleing. But seriously... Thanks for the knowledge and help this forum provides. I have traveled to distant lands (Virginia Beach and Kansas)and spent much wampum to take classes which were very helpful, but not as much as the experience gathered here. Tom PS. I seem to be the only one affected in my area. Dispite the fact that 100yrs ago the Hartford, CT area was a hot spot for gun engravers, I seem to be the only one around. Is there anyone else? |

Welcome Tom. I also live in CT but on the OTHER side of the river in Canton. You are right in that there doesn't seem to be many others with the engraving "bug" in this area.
