I think I can see a tick crawling up that one cheetah's leg. No holding back on detail there. Positively outstanding, I can't imagine the time involved from artwork to completion. Thanks for taking the time to share your work.

Phil, another masterful work of art. I dont know what they call them but those 3 lobed leaves are some of my favorites. Nice background ornamentation. You really are a complete engraver that does everything masterfully. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing work.

The leaves are based on vines, but slightly stylized.

The hardest part of taking engraving photo's is getting the lighting right. Outside on a slightly overcast day is ideal, I also use natural daylight combined sometimes with "Daylight" tubes.

It also helps to know how to set a camera...which is not brain surgery.:smile[2]:

Hi Phil,
Another masterpiece!
One question, is there anyone that is able to give critique on your work?
Must be quite lonely at the top if you need advise.
Thanks for showing and for me to give you my OOOh's and AAAh's

Daniel

What makes this such an enticing action scene is that there are no paws touching the ground. That's fast!

Phil,

Katherine says it accurately!

Your are so generous in posting these superb results, and with such clarity. It all comes together in one great artist ... a conjunction of inspiration, experience, imagination, clear understanding of nature in action, artistic ability and experience, a wonderful skill at toolpoint, passion for the craft, the long humble road in taking it to an unequaled plateau.

It is awe inspiring to see the toolwork at higher and higher magnification with no loss of art!

I am very pleased to get the chance to study your work!

thanks

Rod
