Question from Colorado
Hello: I was here a long time ago, asking about commissioning some work. I have some more questions. I just bought a Colt Single Action Army. It is standard blue with color case hardened frame. In the end, I want the trigger guard and back strap in silver (Sterling?), and unprotected so that it will tarnish naturally.
Anyway, if and when I decide to get this gun engraved, I'd probably want the engraving done *before* the plating? (That's a question). Do you guys prefer to work on guns "in the white" and then have all the metal finishing (color case hardening, bluing, and plating) done after you have finished your end? Thanks for any insights and options to consider. |
