Default First Post and Pics

OK folks, I’m new here and this is my first post. I’ve got lots of desire, but absolutely no experience with engraving. I’ve had my Lindsey engraver for about 6 mos but I’ve had limited time using it so far… seems my full time job gets in the way of a lot of fun stuff. I am a little reluctant to post anything with all the master engravers showing such exquisite work. But here goes…
The first photo is my first attempt at flare cutting on a practice plate.
The second and third are photos of my first engraving on something besides scrap brass. Boy, was I nervous about cutting on something I had to pay for. The second photo is a side plate for a muzzle loading rifle I’m building for my dad. The third is my attempt at engraving the breech end and tang of the same rifle barrel. This was also my first attempt at inlay of a gold ring on the breech end of the barrel. I plan on bluing the barrel when I'm done.

Well, now that I got that over with, I would welcome some comments, constructive or destructive…

Looking pretty good!

That's a real nice job on that inlay!

Thanks Steve,
I was more intimidated by the engraving than cutting slots in the barrel for the inlay.
