Default recent ring

This 18K three diamond ring was designed in CAD and wax milled. After casting I added the filigree wires and hand engraving. I'm really excited about CAD and am happy to have gotten through the "learning curve" with it to the point where I can self teach and gradually move forward. I look forward to a future where hand carving wax is the exception. In truth wax to me has always been the dirty job one had to go through to get to the metal. I prefer drawing on CAD to wax carving. Wax is too mushy for things with strong geometry. Back in the 70's when I was in school I remember a lot of people melting wax to make their molds. Nowadays I tend to think almost any model that was melted into shape as being not serious jewelry.
