First Post, Koi Fish Practice plate
Hello all, I thought I would share a practice plate I did. This is my first post on the forum. I bought my palm control from Steve about three weeks ago and have been practicing. This is the first practice plate I was proud enough of to post (note, this is not my original design, I mimicked a picture of a tattoo I saw on the internet). But it was all cut by me. Steel stock bought from Lowes cut 2x3inches. Main lines cut this 116 Lindsay, Shade lines with a 96, and "shading" with a pointy stipple style tool. I also did this with out a ball vise, I used a regular vise. My palm vise is still on backorder.
Any critique is appreciated. |

For your first "practise" piece after three weeks and without an engraving block, I'm impressed ! Keep at it !!!!!

I'm impressed! Now you need to add fine detail and lots of it, the results will give a dimension to the artwork and from what I see, you are quite capable!_JR (a fellow Texan)
