Hi all ! I'm the new guy !
I've had my engraving stuff for a while, played with it but now it's time to get serious.
I want to say that seeing some of the stuff on here I honestly have no idea how to do, but I want to do it and it's frustrating. I'm a huge fan of the deep relief carving in steel. I'm a knifemaker and have a direction I want to head into but I have to start somewhere ...so I've been playing with some brass practice plates and different heel angles. I seem to have a pretty typical problem of engraving too deep but I'm working on it here's some scratching I've done on my 3rd little plate I'm all ears. |

I honestly don't think I'm doing anything as good as a pantograph. I'm taking Ray's class in Jan. Down in florida. I can't see ruining a knife by me putting my chicken scratches on it, it'll be a while. |
