Phil

For something like this do you work from a photograph in order to get such a lovely tree?

Based on the trigger guard I'm guessing there are other little gems scattered around the rest of that gun.

Phil,
I love the realistic look that your animals and birds have. Heck your scroll work is great also. Thanks for posting

Phil....Your animal anatomy with out a doubt the finest I have ever seen. I am often asked about what it takes to be a gun engraver, and I tell them scroll design, and most important are animal and bird anatomy. I encourage people to draw, and am now including classes in exactly that. I have your sharpening template for Bullino and it produces a very fine dot, I am in the experimental stage right now, and will show some results in the future. Keep up the good work.

Phil, your work is totally amazing! If you do all that with that one bulino tool of yours I am tossing the rest of my tools. You probably get tired of hearing it but I sure havent seen any better bulino work that yours. I would love to just be able to watch you work on this cat for a couple hours, I could learn so much. I just want to learn how to get such deep pure blacks with no inks. That alone would make my year.

Thank you for sharing your amazing work with us and telling about your "magical" tool.

Tim Herman
