Default Tonights fun engraving!

I showed my first zippo engraving to the diamond cutter today.
He loved it and swapped it for his. Had to choke him to get mine back but promised to engrave his for a diamond. (hope it won't be a 0.01ct cape)
This is what I came up with with Ron's book to help me a bit.

I know it's not the best but I drew it on freehand and just winged it. Coarsly drew on the leafes and had fun with my PC :whoo:
Took me three and a half hours and made me miss dinner (again!)

All critigue is welcome (how do you write critigue?)
Could it use some crosshatching?

Daniel

Looking good daniel, aren't ron's books a godsend. I need to go and find myself a zippo to engrave, they look like fun.

I love the over-under leafy stuff Daniel. Most of all, I love the fact that you drew this freehand. That illustrates a good level of comfort in attacking that metal ... especially as the complexity of scroll progresses.

Quick question .... is this lighter stainless? I didn't know Zippo made them.

Daniel, looks good and it's good your learning how to draw on metal it can save a lot of time plus you learn to think ahead while cutting instead of relying on following the lines.

Thanks Noud, Jeff and ddbltrbl.
Chris, this is one of those fake funfair zippo's. Its brass underneath I think.
Carl, I agree it is good to engrave on the Item. It helps me to learn how the structure works way better than drawing on paper. This way I am punished straight away whenn I make a design flaw and I will remember it better.
Do have to work on nive round and flowing backbone's though, some of them are really crooked.

Greetings,

Daniel
