A Texas Colt 1911
Just completed over 103" of 24kt Gold wirework along with nine enlays this
project has been in the works for a few years (worked as I felt) its been a fun project for a longtime customer. Check out my album I kept rough time records on it amounted to 340 hours

I love your scroll work. Very simple but also very elegant even though there is a lot of space around it. It seems the rule is that the edges of the scroll and points of the leaves should touch the boarder but yours looks very distinguished (?) to me.
And only 340 hours? I wouldn't do it in less

Thanks for the comments. I like to isolate the scrollwork when doing relief, it seems to be more on the eligant side. I do follow the rules on most jobs, but I like to make my own most of the time. JR

Beautiful work! The balance of the scroll is very nice. The way you left negative space between th scroll and borders looks very clean. It is god to see successful ways to break the "rules"! helps the rest of us avoid ruts in r designs.
