Hello!
After nice welcome of you, I made next three scrimshaws. All is made on the deer antler. ![]() size: 2,2cm x 3cm ![]() size: 2,4cm x 2,9cm ![]() size: 2,2cm x 2,8cm For staining I use oil-color. Greetings! |

Thanks, when making a horse I use a Headband Magnifer, so the resolution is better. Previous scrims I made without any enlargement.
Here is the close up. ![]() Now, I know, I must work to obtain sharp edges. Eye, bridle, etc. Next will be better ![]() |

Here is a link To Katherine Plumer's tutorial on scrimshaw. Katherine is one of the world's best scrimshanders. In the tutorial, she is working on mommoth ivory but the same would apply to antler work. http://www.engravingforum.com/showthread.php?t=2256 Regards, Roger

As You wish
![]() ![]() Today I finish my first colour scrimshaw. On beginning I have few troubles with colour-mixing inside the dots, but now I understand how to add colour without mixing ![]() size: 3,5 cm x 3,5 cm Tomorrow I attempt to make better photos in daylight and with makro. Greetings! |
